This week Auckland's landmarks are lit up at night time to acknowledge Diwali - the festival of lights that some Indian famlies celebrate as part of their new year festivities. Can you name all of them?

Wonderful Wednesday!
Welcome to "Wonderful Wednesday" with Mrs Carter. Today you are going to learn about Diwali - the Indian festival of lights.
Listen to the story about Deepal's Diwali, write a story about your favourite Indian animal, or try some new maths problems.
Small clay lamps are lit at night time and put outside Indian families homes as part of this ceremony and fireworks are lit on the last day of this celebration. I hope you enjoy doing some of these activities on your iPad. Namaste Team 2!

Fishing fun!
On the weekend Mrs Carter and her family took their boat out near Waiheke Island and caught some snapper for dinner! We also got to see the sunrise which was so beautiful. Then we were lucky enough to get some fresh strawberries from our neighbours who went to Clevedon Strawberry farm near the airport. Like I always say Team 2, sharing is caring...It is lucky that we're able to do a few more things while keeping safe, even though we are still in lockdown.

Welcome to Wai Wednesday and Team 2's learning is all about water safety and stories about going to the beach! Please find this on our Team 2 site. Remember to write a story using a beginning, middle and an end and share it to your teacher via email or post it on your blog. Some nice pictures or photos would be great too. Don't forget to make a new EE using (Explain Everything) and write a sentence using a capital letter for the first word, someone's name or place and end with a full stop. Have fun everyone!
