Our trip to MOTAT!
In Term 2 Rm 24 travelled by bus to MOTAT with Team 2. We were so excited to see the old things and new technology and exploring the big buildings together. We found pulleys that moved up and down and also rode on the tram. Damon taught us how to program the mini robots using coding on an iPad. We learnt how to move them forwards and backwards and move the cardbaord tubes... What did you like the best?

MOTAT trip!
On Thursday 30th June Team 2 travelled by bus to vist the Museum of Transport and Technology in West Auckland. We learnt about how old telephones worked and that people used morse code to communicate. We were very excited to have a ride on the tram past Western Springs lake! There were lots of pulleys and levers and things that move using engines such as old cars. We also learnt about new technology by learning how to program mini robots to move some cardboard tubes around on the floor using different directions. Thank you to Damon for teaching us these new skills, from Mrs Carter and Rm 24.

Fishing fun!
On the weekend Mrs Carter and her family took their boat out near Waiheke Island and caught some snapper for dinner! We also got to see the sunrise which was so beautiful. Then we were lucky enough to get some fresh strawberries from our neighbours who went to Clevedon Strawberry farm near the airport. Like I always say Team 2, sharing is caring...It is lucky that we're able to do a few more things while keeping safe, even though we are still in lockdown.

Celebrating Tongan Language Week!
There are lots of Tongan speaking children in our class and this afternoon Tevita, Marriane, PJ, Ezekiel and Akanesi shared some of their language with us! We got to learn and practice saying so many new words in Tongan. We could write a mini dictionary! Thank you for sharing your ideas about Fiafia, Lu Sipi, White Sunday and cultural dress.
Malo 'aupito from Mrs Carter.

Life Education with Harold
Rm 24 thoroughly enjoyed their time with Sylvia and Harold in the Life Education Caravan over the past two weeks. We learnt how to make good choices using our brains; to get rid of our "cheeky monkeys" and bring back our "wise owls". There are also some colour posters which we can use to identify our own well being to recognise our own feelings and also when we need help to have healthy relationships with others.

Our trip to Stardome!
We travelled by bus to One Tree Hill in Greenlane and went to visit the observatory. Inside there were lots of things to explore such as rockets made of Lego, telescopes, the black hole. John taught us all about how the sun rotates around the earth and the moon also rotates to give us daytime and nightime. Then we got to watch a movie about Space called Tycho.

PES picnic day!
On Friday 26th February our school took a hikoi down to Pt England reserve and joined in with a picnic lunch, swim in the sea with Mrs Carter, play on the beach and time with their whanau! There were so many fun activities to try such as bike riding with Mr J and Ms Tumahai, cricket with Miss Timmy, rippa rugby with Mr Moran, volleyball, softball, walking, making sandcastles, finding crabs, being buried in the sand, playing on the playground and taking turns on the swing. Here are a few photos from the day, thanks to all our parent helpers!
